 OUR MISSION STATEMENT

As a community of faith, trusting in God and embodying the mission of Jesus Christ, we, the Toronto Don Valley Presbytery, an official court of the United Church of Canada, strive to listen and respond to our pastoral charges and mission units, and nurture and empower them and their ministers of the order of ministry in their proclamation of the gospel in our community and the world.

Greetings!

In this wonderful season of Easter with warm spring winds, I hope you have experienced many signs of new life.

As I began the office of chair in the Presbytery, I have sensed that more and efficient communication will help us to build up higher energy as one body. Different people have different concerns such as declination of attendance in the presbytery meetings, lack of confidence or trust, missing some information sharing. Some end up with filing complaint and others suggested/commented urgency of developing some tools of communication of improving it.

There are many ways that we can respond to our problems depends on our experiences, skills, areas of interest, ways of thinking, acting and working. It is time we need to voice out our ideas, value them as God given gifts, and weave them into a nice fabric. We need someone who will join in this work with positive and proactive attitude of "If God Is willing, with God's help, we can make it."

I have prepared the presbytery website. It is like a small house with many unfinished rooms. But is expendable to a great length and size by your sending information/ photos/ stories of your church. This website has enough room to accommodate even personal stories that will help us feel connected by letting know of ourselves.

I wish that we together venture into a new journey of exploration how much we can extend our imaginations and dreams into practice with our limited ability and skills. I am quite positive that, in the course of pursuing with patience, we will form a great band of ministers who strive to seek for the kingdom of God with added new ways.

Please take a look that this website and leave your footprints, ideas and stories, and make this space a home for the people of Toronto Don Valley Presbytery.

Peace,

John
